What is Bowen Technique?
Bowen is originally from Australia. It is a non-intrusive holistic therapy consisting of a sequence of gentle moves over muscle and soft tissue interspersed with periods of rest to allow the body to absorb the moves that have been performed. Bowen Practitioners treat the body as a whole or can target a specific problem, Bowen practitioners are able to pinpoint stress buildup in muscle groups and using bowen technique to release it.
The Bowen Technique balances and stimulates Its an effective restorative process, beginning once the body is relaxed. Bowen is not a form of massage, the Bowen practitioner uses thumb and finger pressure to make gentle rolling type moves, which stimulate the muscle, soft tissue and energy, through nerve pathways, within the body, so aiding the body to its own healing process, and balance itself on a deep level.
Although Bowen therapy is referred to as a complementary treatment – meaning it will enhance and complement other medical treatments. It should be noted if you are undergoing other manipulative therapies immediately following a Bowen therapy session can undermine the effectiveness of the Bowen technique work.
A typical treatment takes 45-60 minutes and 1-3 sessions can be sufficient to achieve lasting relief from long standing pain.
